NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET PART 2: FREDDY’S REVENGE (1985)
The one noteworthy thing about Elm Street 2 is it’s amazingly obvious beat-you-over-the-head gay subtext. A new family lives in Nancy’s old house and this time Freddy inexplicably returns to inhabit the body of poor nerdy Jesse. Freddy spends an awful lot of time cavorting around outside of dreamland for my taste. An S&M gym teacher gets killed via bondage torture. Freddy crashes a pool party and utters the infamous line: “You are all my children now!” Oddly humorless (intentionally anyway) and generally, pretty silly.
