Tourist Trap (1979) Reviewed

The production designer also worked on Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it shows in some scenes where mannequin parts stand in for chicken bones. The biggest scares come courtesy of Chuck Conners’ appearance, Tonya Roberts’ acting and at least one or two jump-inducing visuals. A car filled with annoying young vacationers breaks down in the worst place possible…blah, blah, blah. Only after we’ve been shown some skin does the killing start. The entire movie is based on an unfinished premise. Something about Chuck Conners having telekinetic powers like in Carrie and his relationship with the multitudes of dummies filling his roadside tourist attraction. The promotional art is far scarier than anything in the movie.
