THE BRAIN FROM PLANET AROUS (1957)
John Agar gets to act bat-shit crazy in this story of a giant, deep-voiced brain that hovers, destroys and possesses! Agar is a legitimate hoot, snarling his dialogue about world domination after the brain has taken the reluctant nuclear physicist’s body over. When the brain makes Agar especially ornery his eyes become inexplicably glowy and cat-like and he grins and laughs like a sadistic lunatic. The giant brain, complete with funny little stem, has eyeballs embedded in its front. A second brain comes to earth to end the first brain’s reign of terror. It possesses Agar’s dog instead. Agar attacks his girlfriend with some surprising groping and aggressive necking. The dog in turn, attacks him. Agar is a long way from romping with chimps in Revenge of the Creature.
